In our Age of Ashes campaign, the Status spell has been a crucial tool for plot development and splitting the party in a way that it would naturally and organically re-converge. Three rings, each depicting a Red-Tailed Hawk, a Jungle Bida, and a Peregrine Falcon were gifted to some of our heroes for Crystalhue's winter celebration in Kovlar for Episode 40 of our epic-style campaign (See the scene describing it here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9CfcZ8TbWA&t=2h06m15s) Do your players tend to try to branch off and get themselves into trouble? A way to balance this, I've found, is to use Status to send the proverbial distress signal to call the party to lend aid. This ring has helped more than half a dozen times to communicate certain critical plot developments across the party, and it is quite easy to plan and prep knowing that the rings will keep the party informed of one another's situation.
